Sea Grant Week 2018: Thriving in Uncertain Times
September 16-21, 2018 | Portland, Oregon
Portland, OR, is frequently recognized as one of the world’s most environmentally conscious cities because of its high walkability, large community of bicyclists, farm-to-table dining, expansive network of public transportation options, and over 10,000 acres of public parks. Portland sits at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers, approximately 100 river miles from the Pacific Ocean. The climate of warm, dry summers and cool, rainy winters is ideal for growing roses, and Portland has been called the “City of Roses” for over a century. “Keep Portland Weird” is the unofficial slogan for the city.
The closing banquet on Thursday will include a silent auction. Items for the auction have been donated by your Sea Grant colleagues, many of whom created them with their own hands! Please visit our auction website to view donated items and start developing your bidding strategies. We hope everyone will participate in what is sure to be a fun event. The money raised will be used to establish a travel fund to help future award recipients attend Sea Grant Week. Note: Payment is required during checkout and payment options will be limited to cash or check. Please bring your checkbook or visit an ATM before the banquet.
The conference will be held at the Hilton Portland Downtown, conveniently located in the heart of the city. Take a short walk to downtown’s business district, exclusive tax-free shopping, exciting entertainment venues and the MAX Light rail, just one block from the hotel.
